Colombia, Cartagena

We are staying in the neighbourhood Getsemani. The place to be for backpackers.

Lots of street-food, music, colourful houses and many beautiful and great graffiti painted walls.

After a day of relaxing, exploring a bit on our own we signed up for the free walking tour through the old town of Cartagena. This tour took us along the famous squares, churches and finally onto the fortress wall where normally a great sunset can be viewed. But not today, on a cloudy day…

Easily sad, the Old Town and Getsemani were great places to be, to stay. Not once we’ve felt unsafe or unpleasant. Yes, it’s a big city, you need to watch your belongings but not more or less than in any other big city in the world.

Next stop: Taganga, Northern Colombia.
